The Church for America

As we cross our nation’s milestone 250th anniversary, everyone is asking: What does America need most? Stronger leaders? A better economy?

While policies matter, history shows that God blesses nations through a people who faithfully represent Him. As Proverbs 14:34 reminds us:

"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people."

Righteousness isn't about political clout; it’s about relational integrity with God. It is a gift available to us and a daily pursuit. When we chase righteousness, God provides stability and elevation. But when we trust in human strength, we dry up like a desert shrub (Jeremiah 17:5-8). Sin always takes us further than we want to go, keeps us longer than we want to stay, and costs more than we want to pay.

Five Pillars for the Path Forward

Our mission to know God and help people follow Jesus holds the solutions our country needs. To be the church God uses to bless America, we must commit to five critical callings:

  • Biblical: We abide in God’s Word to shape how we think and live.

  • Spirit-Led: We depend on the Holy Spirit's power in our worship, giving, and daily steps.

  • Generational: We equip all ages to serve, passing the torch of faith to those who follow.

  • Unified: We walk together in love and truth, using our unique gifts to build His kingdom.

  • Ambassadors: We visibly represent Christ here, there, and everywhere.

When the Church is free to be the Church, we become like trees planted by streams of water—unafraid of the drought, bearing fruit, and bringing healing to our land.

Let’s live out this calling together.

Reflection Questions

To help us move from listeners to doers, take a few moments to reflect on these questions this week:

  1. Where are you placing your trust? Are you leaning on human strength and shifting culture, or are you firmly rooted in the Lord like the tree in Jeremiah 17?

  2. Which of the five pillars needs your focus today? Whether it's digging deeper into Scripture (Biblical) or investing in the next generation (Generational), what is your next step?

  3. How can you be a visible ambassador this week? What is one practical way you can represent Christ’s love and truth in your home, workplace, or neighborhood?
