Our special needs ministry strives to empower individuals with differing needs to find a sense of belonging and SHINE within the body of Christ.

We want those in our ministry to SHINE: Serve others, Help others, Integrate with others, Notice others and Encourage others.

What ages do you serve?
We currently serve grades K-5th. If your child does not fall within that age range, please reach out to 516@themission.net.
What is your adult to kid ratio?
We strive to provide a 1:1 child to team member ratio, although at times it may be a 2:1 ratio.
What diagnoses do you serve?
We can accommodate almost any diagnosis ranging from autism, down syndrome, and sensory processing disorder to ADHD, Anxiety, Trauma, and more. (This is not an exhaustive list.)
What resources will my child have access to?
A sensory room to aid in decompression.
Equipped Team Members to assist in a capacity to achieve our mission and vision statements.
Tools to help individuals succeed in any environment ex. headphones, fidgets, visual schedules, etc. (Every volunteer carries a sensory bag containing each of these items).
Can I come observe the ministry?
Yes! We offer one initial observation session, with more observation sessions available after a background check is completed. We also offer tours of the facility anytime during church office hours Monday-Thursday 9:00am-5:00pm. To setup a tour reach out to 516@themission.net.
